High Protein Strawberry Mango Smoothie

Hard workouts are hard for a reason! Sometimes when they are so hard, the appetite is suppressed afterwards. Just the thought of having to eat something post-sweat session makes your stomach turn. 

 

In this case, it's best to look for liquid nutrition. What better way to get your carbohydrates and protein than with a delicious smoothie this summer? 

 

This High Protein Strawberry Mango Smoothie is one of my favorite go-to snacks post-workout. It has just what I need to recover well plus a little room to add in some extra carbohydrates - fruit or a piece of toast - if the stomach is okay with it. 

 

What I love best about this smoothie is the fact that it has the added calcium from the yogurt to help boost my nutrition in the best of ways. When I’m really ambitious, I even add my creatine supplement to the blender as well.

 

So give this blend a try and bring on the recovery!

 

 

INGREDIENTS:

½ cup plain yogurt (I prefer the 2% Fage)

5 medium frozen strawberries

½ cup frozen mango chunks

1 tbsp. pea protein powder

1 cup soy milk

 

DIRECTIONS:

 

  1. Add all the ingredients to the blender in the order listed.
  2. Blend on high until your beverage has a smooth consistency. 
  3. Pour into a cup and enjoy on its own or with some fruit/toast post-workout.
